Barnards Green Traders organised the biggest and best Christmas Extravaganza so far, last Saturday, the 2nd of December.
“We had the biggest turn out of local families and some wonderful activities for them to enjoy” said Jane Knowles, Chair of the Traders Association. “The ‘real’ unicorns were a great hit, with lots of children having their photo whilst sitting on them. ‘Magic Russ and Dave the Wonderdog puppet show’ were brilliantly funny and cheeky as usual, making all the kids roar with laughter.
We were also lucky to have lots of children who had been really ‘good’ this year and so received a free early Christmas present when they visited Santa in his grotto. Lots of them were also able to make up a ‘light-up’ Christmas star tree decoration” said Jane.

“The Traders always ensure that a lot of the activities are provided free of charge because we know how tough it is for parents at this time of year.  It is our way of saying thank you for their support throughout the rest of the year. We also fundraise throughout December; this year we are hoping to provide one or two Heartstart defibrillators to be placed in Barnards Green. On Saturday we managed to raise just under £900, so we are well on our way to the target.  Local history books are also for sale and all the profits from the lovely booklet will also go towards buying the defibrillators.   It is a lovely win-win community event”
